Joy Revisited

Kimba Livesay, Joy Revisited, Mixed Media on Canvas, 20x16, 2025. Last week the weight of the world felt heavy. So much is happening in our country. So much hate, anger and lies. It finally got to me. I knew I had to reset. I am a cancer survivor and I know the key to survival is positive emotions like joy, gratitude and love. I did what I always do when I feel blue, I went to my studio to create. I wanted to revisit joy through line, shape, and color but I dreaded putting color on canvas. After scribbling on the canvas for an hour I finally  settled into revisiting joy. The more colors I added to the canvas the lighter I began to feel. Before I knew it, joy had revisited my soul. I was reminded that to stay healthy, I must create pockets of joy. Maybe you too have been feeling blue about the world we live in? I invite you revisit joy by creating pockets of joy. Imagine a world where we are actively seeking to revisit joy every chance we get.
